Information Services Manager

Department: Administration

Pay Scale:  Library Manager, exempt. Starting rate of pay $20.95/hour plus excellent benefits.

Hours:  Average of 40 hours per week

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Two years of experience in systems support and troubleshooting required, library setting preferred.  Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:  Knowledge of computer and library systems, including hardware, software, and networking technology. Management and supervision techniques; budgeting.

Illustrative Duties:  Develops and implements the library’s technology plan for public service and administrative use. Develops and monitors cost-effective budget and inventory schedule for replacement and maintenance of hardware, software, licenses, peripherals and related items. Arranges for ongoing maintenance and upgrades of all technology systems, developing methods that maximize efficiency. Manages daily activities of the Information Services department including scheduling, training, assigning work, and evaluating employees.

SUBSTITUTE JOB POSTINGS

Do you have great customer service skills and love the library?  

Portage County District Library System is looking for people to work on an “as needed” basis to fill in for our regular staff members
at our branches in Aurora, Garrettsville, Randolph, Streetsboro and Windham. 

 

Substitute Reference Librarians

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree and applicable experience. Customer service and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities: Locate information and materials based on patron request. Perform reference and circulation duties.

Hourly Rate: $12.94/hr

Substitute Circulation Clerks

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency. Customer service and basic computer skills required. Ability to lift and move materials.

Responsibilities: Provide service to patrons by performing circulation duties and answering questions.

Hourly Rate: $9.65/hr

Benefits include: Paid training, travel allowance, and flexible schedule
